This was the scene when an oil tank was struck and apparently ignited by a lightning strike in rural Kansas. The fire happened in Gove County, close to the Castle Rock Badlands and the Smoky Hill River, about 20 miles south of Quinter, where fire units came from to battle the blaze. The National Weather Service reported thunderstorms in the area at the time. The footage was captured by Eric Hurst, a vacationing firefighter from Clorado.
